In 2017, Tay participated in the 《iFeel Girl Search》 held by Astro, showing her talent and giving such a great performance, she stood out from other contestants and won the championship. Winning this title has officially opened up her acting career and made her a guest of many shows. Among them, she participated in the recording of the Malaysian version of “The Voice”. With a very distinctive voice, she was elevated to the top 100 in Malaysia.

In 2018, Tay participated in Miss Malaysia Globe International 2018 and won third place. In addition, she won the title of Miss Congeniality.

In 2020, Tay regained her adoration for the stage and chose to join VITAMEDIA as an artiste. This year, she participated in the MV shooting of the CNY Theme song 《有你的新年》 with former World No.1 Malaysian professional badminton player Tan Boon Heong and Ah Boy Danny Koo, and served as one of the guests for Malaysia reality show《走吧！生活》, experienced the camping life together with William San, Lynn, Elynn and junior Vincent, and served as a promotional ambassador for the limited-edition Christmas series launched by Aik Cheong Coffee X Tien Tien Yogurt.

In 2021, Tay participated to sing in the recording of PesonaXY Chinese New Year program on RTM TV1 Malaysia.
